'What's included in the price?' - All instruction and technical equipment such as ropes, harnesses, helmets, hardware, rockboots (if we have your size) and compasses.
'What's not included in the price?' - Food and drink, personal equipment such as waterproofs, walking boots and any insurance.
'We're looking to stay in the vicinty of the area where the course is taking place. What about accommodation?' - Accommodation is not included in the price of your course, however if you would like some ideas of where to stay please click here.
'What happens if it is raining and we are booked on a rock climbing course?' - We aim to use our knwoledge of the areas we utilise so that we can find venues that are suitable for the conditions. However, our weather systems are very changeable and sometimes unpredictable. As a result we may be outside climbing in wet or damp conditions and if the weather is deemed to be too wet for climbing outdoors we may head indoors to a indoor climbing or bouldering facility. Generally the course that you have booked will go ahead in one form or another.
'What qualifications do the staff have who are delivering my course?' - All staff who are delivering courses on behalf of Mountain Aspirations will hold as a minimum the Mountain Instructors Award (click here for an explanation of the UK Awards structure) and the relevant insurance cover.
'My son who is under 18 would like to participate in a climbing course with Mountain Aspirations. Is that ok?' - Any participants under the age of 18 years who would like to participate on a course delivered by Mountain Aspirations must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
'I have never climbed before. Does that matter?' - For an introductory or taster course that is not a problem, but on each of the course outlines we have provided a summary of previous experience required for each particular course as a rough guideline.
