Mountain Aspirations offer scrambling courses to suit a range of needs. Whether you are a hillwalker aiming to find a more challenging way to a summit or a scrambler looking to tackle some more challenging routes developing your ropework skills on technical ground; we are able to fulfill your aspirations. For scrambling we use either the Lake District or Snowdonia. Listed below are some examples of what we can offer.

 

We specialise in providing bespoke courses to fulfill your particular requirements. You tell us your aims, ideal location and how many days you have available and we'll design your course. However by browsing the information below you will also find some examples of the type of programmes we can deliver.

 

 

 

This course is aimed at the hillwalker looking for a challenging route to a summit. Combining Grade 1 type scrambling with quality hill walking routes  for example Jacks Rake on Pavey Ark in the Lake District or the Cwm Bochwlyd Horseshoe in Snowdonia. The focus will be on navigation, route choice, personal equipment, security on steep ground and guidebook interpretation.

Location: Lake District / North Wales

Ratio: 1:6 (maximum)

Aimed at the those with some scrambling experience and more experienced hillwalkers. Covering Grade 2 & 3 scrambling terrain such the Cneifion Arete in Snowdonia or Cam Crag Ridge in the Lake District, this course aims to equip you with the technical skills to move both safely and efficiently over mountaineering type terrain. The focus will be on route choice, technical equipment, placing runners, belaying, ropework and descent.

Location: Lake District / North Wales

Ratio: 1:2 (maximum)

This course would look specifically at the ropework skills to enable you to move safely over technical scrambling terrain. Rather than operating on specific scrambles, this course would be based on scrambling type terrain allowing us to concentrate on the specfic skills such as technical equipment, building efficient belays, placing runners, guidebook interpretation, movement skills and route choice.

Location: Peak District / Lake District / North Wales

Ratio: 1:2 (maximum)
